Great name Royce not sure I've heard it except in back of a car.
I had the same experience as a boy Picking coal on the slate dump, cutting wood by the basket and spading up gardens were the jobs I got back in the 40's in a small coal mining town.

I liked Robins Rule of 45 and liked your permission to hear NO.

I'm a numbers guy or at least I can appreciate them. I certainly appreciate this article. I have never been afraid to hear no. My first experience hearing no was at the age of 10 on the summer job hunt. I would go out, based on my fathers instruction and unwillingness to cough up any money, and solicite business after business until I found someone who needed work. Needless to say I heard no a lot, but I always eventually heard yes, even at that young age. I have an older brother and a younger brother and we all did this at some point. We never had problems getting work and now have very entrepreneurial businesses and have succeeded in sales roles. I think people need to know that it's ok to hear no. HERE IS YOUR OFFICIAL PERMISSION TO HEAR NO, IT'S OK, YOU WILL NOT GET IN TROUBLE FOR HEARING NO. In fact you might just get wealthy. Great blog post Robin!
