As winter moves slowly along, many people find that their business
lags as well. For some, the endless days of gloom affect their ability
to get motivated. Some are still trying to recover from the frantic
pace of the holidays. Sometimes it is just difficult to get motivated
to do much of anything. This time of year, it may be useful to
remember the 90 day rule. The 90 day rule says that that what you do
now will come to full fruition in 90 days. In 90 days, it will be
almost May. Spring and that means graduations, cleaning, planting, and
all the other activities that happen that time of year. Wouldn’t it be
better to work harder now and continue to build your business?

There are lots of things you can do to get yourself motivated. You can read a good motivational book. Rudy’s Insights for Winning in Life
comes to mind. Read any book or article by Jim Rohn. Or pick someone
you admire and read their biography. If nothing else watch an
inspirational biography on A&E. The sources and types of
inspiration out there are almost endless, so take advantage of the
resources.

This might be a good time to look at what you
accomplished last year. Even if you aren’t where you thought you might
be by now, look at the positives of what you did accomplish. What was
your best month last year? What happened that month that made you so
successful? Could you do it again now? Why or why not? Try to recapture
some of the excitement that you experienced when you were successful.

Talk to someone. If you are having trouble getting
on track, talk to someone who is experiencing success right now and see
what they are doing. Ask them for suggestions of how you might get back
on track or if they have any ideas. Take those suggestions seriously
and implement them into your business.

Try doing things a little differently than you
have in the past. Maybe you need to work at a different time of day
for a little while. Maybe you need to take your computer and work
somewhere else. A change in scenery and atmosphere can be both pleasant
and motivating. This is especially true if you have been trapped in the
house for an extended period of time.

Take a little time off. Taking a break of things
temporarily can invigorate you and get you motivated again. Everyone
needs a little fun and you will be happier and your business will
benefit if you are happy to be doing what you are doing. You attitude
is important to the success of your business, so make sure you are
motivated, focused, and ready to work.

Many people that get involved in network marketing find themselves
making a commitment when the first join to do x. X can be many things.
Maybe they agreed to stay in the business for a certain amount of time,
maybe they agreed to add a certain number of people to their business,
maybe they agreed to contact a certain number of people, or maybe they
agreed to buy a certain amount of product. Whatever the x might be, it
can be very dangerous (not to mention disappointing) to fashion your
business around any of those commitments made.

Often commitments made at the beginning of a
business are made with incomplete knowledge. This incomplete knowledge
can also come in many forms. People often underestimate the time they
will have available to work their business. Sometimes their network
marketing business is not given priority. Maybe it turns out they
don’t like the products. Maybe they just forget to order. Sometimes
they are resistant to the training and are not having the success they
thought they would have. They begin to doubt their abilities or the
validity of their network marketing company. Whatever the reason,
their network marketing promises are either forgotten or unfulfilled.

Life being what it is, it is also impossible to
predict when life events will interfere with plan. Sickness, changes
in financial status, and unexpected expenses are just a few of the
things that will interfere with any business, but can be particularly
harmful to a home-based network marketing business.

Network marketing is a team sport and requires the
COMMITMENT of all its team members to benefit everyone on the team.
The more people on the team that chose not to participate, the more the
entire team suffers. Network marketing is also an individual sport in
that everyone owns their own business. As a leader, you really have
very little leverage over anyone that decides not to follow their
commitments. Added to that, for many people, their network marketing
business is just something “extra” that they do. They are afraid to
put in the effort that would be required to actually build a business
that would support them. Getting them out of the “I can’t work my
network marketing business because of X and X is why I need the extra
money that I could earn from my network marketing business” can be
challenging.

By communicating, providing training, and being
available, you can keep as many people on track as possible, but
recognizing that a certain number of people are not willing or are not
able to honor their original commitment will save a lot of
disappointment.

There are only two options regarding commitment. You're either in or out. There's no such thing as a life in-between.

Multilevel marketing can offer
you a chance to earn some extra money in time for the holidays (and
beyond)! With the holidays fast approaching, this may seem like a
strange time to start a new business venture, but starting now can give
you some great benefits not only for that shopping, but for building a
new future for 2010. Why wait until January 1 to make some changes for
the better!

One of the easiest ways to build you business quickly this time of
year is to find a company that has products that can be given as gifts.
Everyone is looking for gift ideas, so being able to start you business
and take care of some shopping at the same time as a lot of appeal.
(Don’t forget to make sure there are also great products after the
holidays!)

Network marketers often hear the complaint that someone doesn’t have
time to do anything else. So, what will take more time—working your
network marketing business or taking an extra job somewhere to get
extra money for the holidays? Keep in mind that working elsewhere
including transportation back and forth, possibly eating out more often
(since you will be busy going back and forth), not to mention you are
probably not going to be able to pick your hours. In fact, you may
even be required to work on the holiday! If you work at home, there is
no back and forth time and expense, no extra meals, and you can
certainly pick your hours. Again, it is important to find a company
with a system that matches your goals and time constraints.

What about after the holidays? Are all the bills going to
disappear? What if you could keep working this business that you
already started as a continual source of supplemental income? What if
you could even earn enough to make a different in your financial
situation? What if you like the products and had to buy them anyway
(in other words, if there is a minimum amount of products that have to
be purchased to stay active, they are products that you would buy
anyway, so there is no additional strain on your budget)?

This could be the very best time to start your business, get some of
your holiday shopping done, and get some great products for yourself.
Reach the life you deserve in 2010. There is no better time to start
your new business!

Most companies recognize the
power of reward. Stores offer free rewards for shopping in their store
via a rewards card. Credit card companies offer all kinds of rewards
for using their credit card. Consumers are responsive to the offer of
rewards—that’s why so many companies use them.

Companies also know about rewards. Many of them offer rewards to
their employees for everything from sales quotas to making a specific
deadline. Companies also know that employees respond to rewards and
are motivated to receive them. Many companies even make sure that they
give that award in a forum where the person is recognized publicly for
their achievement, or offer group reward where everyone shares in the
success.

So why not use rewards to motivate yourself? If
you are working for yourself, you can set you goals, work hard to get
there, and then forget to reward yourself. When you are setting up
your goals, why wouldn’t you decide on a reward for yourself when you
reach that goal? The best part about setting your own reward is that
you know it is something you will really want.

Getting to goal and rewarding yourself can be an
important part of maintaining you momentum without getting burned out.
Just going for goal after goal, even when you are recognized by the
company, can become tedious and tiring day after day. The reward you
decide for yourself doesn’t have to be money. Maybe it is an afternoon
off, maybe it is a movie, maybe even just a relaxing bubble bath.
Whatever the reward, make sure it matches the goal. The bigger the
goal you achieved, the bigger the reward!

Try adding rewards to your business. If you want
to add a level of accountability, find someone and tell them what
reward you have chosen when you reach that specific goal. Adding
rewards will add a new level of motivation, but also a new level of
fun. Everyone loves to do what they want to do for a chance and the
opportunity to give yourself that chance shouldn’t be passed up. You
work hard—reward yourself!

At some point in our lives, most of us have wondered 'when will it
be my time?' We work, we take care of our kids, and we take care of our
parents, our spouse, and our house--pretty much everything. And we get
older. Nothing seems to change and it seems like we are doomed to a
mediocre existence.

We see opportunities come and go and we wonder if we will ever have
a chance. But why not now? Why not take that chance? There will always
be reasons not to take a chance but why not think of all the reasons to
take a chance. What would you do if you were guaranteed not to fail?
What if you could take a small chance and try something that could
change your life? Change your future and your family’s future, your
grandchildren’s future, your great-grandchildren’s future? Would you
do it? Or have you been beaten down so many times that you are afraid
to take chances any more. Maybe you think you are too old, too young,
too…you fill in the blank.

There are companies that can offer you that
chance. Minimal risk but big rewards. Does it happen automatically? Of
course not. Does it happen overnight? Nope. Do you have to have a ton
of experience? Absolutely not. Will it be easy? Maybe not but it can be
fun. You can meet new people, learn something new and maybe even make a
little money in the process. If you are willing to learn, willing to
work consistently, and are coachable, you could earn a lot of money--a
whole lot of money. But you will never know unless you take that first
step. It's your time and your chance. Take advantage of it! It is
never too late and you are never too old unless you think you are!

Do you find yourself with too much month at the end of the money?
Have you accumulated too much debt? Do you have a child that needs
money for college? Do you have a shortfall in retirement account? If
you answered yes to any of these questions, what are you willing to
sacrifice to make more money, pay off your debts, save for college, or
retire with dignity? The answer to that question is not easy and even
if you are willing to sacrifice a lot, how to do you decide what to do?

What if you committed yourself to building a business? What would
like commitment look like? The answer to these questions is different
for everyone, but there are some important considerations. The first
consideration is how fast you need to take care of the issue. Are you
in desperate financial condition now or can you see that an income
stream will be ending in the future? Are you debts affecting your
ability to get a loan or costing you a great deal in fees and
interest? How old are your kids? How soon do you need to retire? The
more urgent the problem, the more you may have to sacrifice to get
things going quickly. There is a direct correlation between the amount
of time you spend on the business and the rate of growth.

Can you carve out the time consistently to work
your business (as well as be somewhat flexible when opportunities may
arise)? Are you willing to sacrifice time with your family, your
friends for a month, six months, a year? Is that sacrifice worth the
financial gain? We all know money isn’t everything, but when money
issues are so pressing that they are constantly occupying your thoughts
and actions, they are already interfering with your life. What is
worth to you to not have those worries?

Finding a business that you can build with
consistent effort takes some shopping around. Ideally you want to work
with someone that understands you financial goals and will help you
achieve them. Find a company that offers you proven systems and
assistance (in the form of training or other support). Don’t be afraid
to spell out what you are looking for over the next month, six months,
or year in terms of income. Find out of those are realistic financial
goals with this particular company.

There are great opportunities out there but, like
all investments, they do take a little homework. Making the sacrifice
of time and effort for a short time can pay off in your quality of life
in the long run. As Beverly Sills said “You may be disappointed if you
fail, but you are doomed if you don’t try.”

We’ve all heard that lifelong
readers do better at pretty much anything. How important is reading?
Here are some interesting statistics associated with reading (from the
website . http://www.readfaster.com/education_stats.asp#literacystatistics.)

More than 20 percent of adults read at or below a fifth-grade level—far below the level needed to earn a living wage.

56 percent of young people say they read more than
10 books a year, with middle school students reading the most. Some 70
percent of middle school students read more than 10 books a year,
compared with only 49 percent of high school students

There are almost half a million words in our
English Language - the largest language on earth, incidentally - but a
third of all our writing is made up of only twenty-two words.

Out-of-school reading habits of students has shown
that even 15 minutes a day of independent reading can expose students
to more than a million words of text in a year.

The educational careers of 25 to 40 percent of
American children are imperiled because they don't read well enough,
quickly enough, or easily enough.

And more from http://desicritics.org/2007/10/27/053758.php

· 58% of the US adult population never reads another book after high school

· 42% of college graduates never read another book

· 80% of US families did not buy or read a book last year.

· 70% of US adults have not been in a bookstore in the last five years

· 57% of new books are not read to completion.

· Most readers do not get past page 18 in a book they have purchased.

Why do we quit reading when it is one of the
easiest ways to continue to educate ourselves? Probably lots of
reasons; time, a learning disability (although this is less of a reason
with audio books), and we don’t see the value of continuing to read,
but reading is an important way to learn. Readers are more likely to
advance in their jobs.

Don’t let yourself be another statistic! Read a
book (preferably nonfiction since reading fiction can be the equivalent
to watching a soap opera on TV!). If you don’t like reading, get
audiobooks—there is a lot of downtime in the car and listening to CDs
is an easy way to pass the time. You will be surprised at how far
reading can take you. Knowledge is power!

Check with you leader or upline and ask what books they are reading today.

Remember Leaders Read. Suggested Books: Bible, The
Go Giver, Go for No, The Greatest Networker in the World, The Answer,

If you are involved in any kind of business that involves sponsoring
or enrolling, you know that to effectively build your business at some
point you need to get contacts—a lot of contacts, otherwise known as
leads. You can start with your friends and family, but those soon run
out. You can try to find your own leads (phonebook, your own website,
etc.), but you are trying to sponsor or enroll people that may not be
interested in your business (or any business for that matter). If you
do too much emailing to random people, you might even get accused of
being a spammer!

Finding good leads and an effective system on how to use them can be
very difficult. You can do an internet search and you will find many
companies that sell leads. There is also a very large price range for
individual leads—anywhere from pennies for each lead to $50 or more.
But how do you narrow down the choices to get the leads that will be
interested in your business? You need to ask some important questions
when you are looking to buy leads.

The first question you need to ask is where the
company is getting the leads. Some have capture websites, some run
television ads, and many other sources. The best sources are where the
person has at least expressed an interest in some kind of business.
The very best leads are people that have expressed an interest
specifically in your kind of business. Because those types of leads
require the most effort on the part of the company, as you might
expect, they can also be the most expensive.

Another important question is how old are the
leads. If the leads are too old, the information won’t be accurate,
people may not be interested any more, they may not even remember ever
signing up for information. Some companies sell their leads to
multiple people.

If you area paying a lot of money for leads, you
should expect some guarantee from the company about the accuracy of the
leads. Some may even replace any leads you get that turn out to be
inaccurate.

Before you go to the expense of purchasing leads,
be sure you have a mechanism in place to use them. This is usually in
the form of an emailer program or a dialer program. There are many of
these programs available so, shop around. Make sure you have the
computing power for the system to work. Trying to work the leads
yourself by sending out individual emails or calling on the leads
individually is inefficient. No matter how much time you spend, you
can’t get the volume you need to sort through the leads to find the
ones that are really interested in working with you.

The final, and probably most important
consideration is do you have the time to consistently follow up with
the responses you get from people who are interested in your business.
If you don’t work consistently to follow up on your leads, you will
lose most of them and you will waste potentially a great deal of money.

If you are in an MLM or network marketing company,
work with you upline to develop a system to work your leads. Sometimes
you can even work leads as a group (and share the expense as well).

Leads and lead systems are an important component
to building your business. Take your time and make sure you know how
to work your system before you start spending money on leads. Also
remember that when purchasing leads, you get what you pay for.

look around and see the leads you need http://itreallyworks.biz

Dietary supplements always carry the same disclaimer: “This
statement has not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is no
intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.” If the
supplement is not intended to do anything, then why take it? What
about all those testimonials from people who have taken the product and
had some kind of positive reaction. Keep in mind that the statement
says that it is not intended to work on any DISEASE. Many supplements
advertise non-medicinal benefits—more energy, a better night’s sleep,
or better mental awareness. Basically it will help with something in
our life that we find a problem, but not necessarily a health issue.

Basically anything that goes into your body falls
under the purview of the FDA. The FDA is a agency within the
Department of Health and Human Services. According to their website,
“The FDA is responsible for protecting the public health by assuring
the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs,
biological products, medical devices, our nation’s food supply,
cosmetics, and products that emit radiation.”

Dietary supplements are not regulated like drugs. Here are some important differences.

1. Federal law does not require
dietary supplements to be proven safe to the FDA’s satisfaction before
they are marketed.

2. With regard to labeling, the
law does not require the manufacturer or seller to prove to the FDA’s
satisfaction that the claim is accurate or truthful before it appears
on the product.

3. The FDA’s role with a dietary supplement product begins after the product enters the marketplace.

4. Once a dietary supplement is
on the market, FDA has certain safety monitoring responsibilities
including monitoring mandatory reporting of serious adverse events by
dietary supplement firms and voluntary adverse events reporting by
consumers and health care professionals.

5. It is not legal to market a
dietary supplement product as a treatment or cure for a disease, or to
alleviate the symptoms of disease.

Some companies walk a very fine line when it comes
to these regulations, particularly about making claims about the health
benefits of their products. Others companies have taken a different
approach and have sought to prove a benefit by subjecting their
products to the same rigorous testing that is required for drugs.
Usually, this involves clinical trials done by an independent facility.

The growing number of dietary supplements on the
market as well as the potential health benefits of some products has
prompted the FDA to look at their policies regarding dietary
supplements. While no changes in the policies are currently
anticipated, the FDA does aggressively investigate companies when they
receive multiple complaints or when multiple health problems are
reported.

Dietary supplements can be beneficial, but it is
important to check out the company thoroughly. It is also advisable to
consult with healthcare professional, although you may have a difficult
time finding one that knows much about dietary supplements. You can
also look at the FDA’s Consumer Updates pages http://www.fda.gov/ForConsumers/ConsumerUpdates/default.htm
for information about product approvals, safety warnings, and other
health information.

Make sure you get only the best! I only work with
the best how about you?

If you have done any kind of web search for multi-level marketing, it
will not take long before you discover that many multi-level companies
involve dietary supplements of some type, particularly juices. If you
have spent any time on the website for those companies, you may have
been overwhelmed by the sheer number of supplements available (not to
mention the various claims associated with these various supplements).
Why are there so many different supplements from so many different
companies? How can you tell whether they really work or not?

Why are there so many different supplements? The same reason there are
so many different drugs (even for the same disease or
problem)—different people react differently. What works for one person
may not work for the next. Each supplement, just like each drug, has
its own formulation. If you have tried multiple supplements, you might
notice that one works for you while the other doesn’t seem to do
anything.

Why are there so many different companies involved in the supplement
industry? The health and wellness industry is one of the fastest
growing business sectors. As the population continues to age, more and
more people are looking for products that make them feel and look
younger. Ten years ago, the health and wellness industry barely
existed. The total amount of supplement sales in the U.S. in 2006 was
$22.46 billion. The percentage increase in sales between 1996 and 2006?
100%. Many of these companies are international, so the stakes are even
higher. The reason so many companies are involved in this industry is
obvious—big money (and getting bigger all the time)!

How can you tell whether a particular dietary supplement really works
(or even what it is supposed to do)? Well, you can try it! If you would
like something a little more substantial, however, you can look at
website for the National Institutes of Health Office of Dietary
Supplements http://dietary-supplements.info.nih.gov/Health_Information/Information_About_Individual_Dietary_Supplements.aspx.
This website has a lot of information about many of the dietary
supplements currently available. You may not find all the ingredients,
but at least it will give you an idea about several of the more common
ones.

It does pay to do your research. There are a lot of companies with a
lot of different products. Just because a company has been around for
awhile doesn’t mean they necessarily have the best products. Don’t be
afraid to ask questions. Check out the ingredients and find the best
match to achieve the results you want for your dietary supplement.

If you have ever taken a personality test, one of the things the
questions are designed to determine is your ability to handle risk.
Let’s face it, some of us are adrenaline junkies and live to take
risks. Others need security and are very risk adverse. Both kinds can
do well in network marketing, but they may approach it in different
ways or join different companies.

People that like to take chances are definitely well suited to the
network marketing business. These people will take the bull by the
horns and go for it. They like the challenge that network marketing can
offer. They love the thrill of making the business work. The more
people they sign up, the more they work the business, always looking
for the next great person to introduce to their business.

Risk takers are also likely to also be looking for the next best
business to get involved with. They may also be more likely to be
involved with more than one business. The risk that is involved in
network marketing is a challenge for them and they love to rise to the
occasion. Risk takers also like to talk to other risk takers about the
new ideas they can try out. Many network marketing companies are fairly
new, making them ideal for the person looking for a real challenge in
their life.

If you are more adverse to risk, you may still be attracted to network
marketing, but for different reasons. Network marketing may provide a
second stream of income. If you are successful in the business, it may
also provide the ultimate in security, residual income. People that are
more risk adverse may be more likely to research several companies
before deciding on one to get involved with. They may also be less
likely to change companies.

No matter where you fall in the risk spectrum, take the time to
research the company and where they fall on the risk scale. If you are
risk-adverse, the company that started six months ago may not be the
best fit for you. Network marketing encompasses a large variety of
companies and options which makes network marketing attractive to risk
takers and conservatives as well as everyone in between.

Daring ideas are like chessmen moved forward. They may be beaten, but they may start a winning game.
There are lots of career choices that anyone of us can make. Studies
show that most people change careers along the way—on average about
three times. There are many reasons that people change careers.
Sometimes those career changes come about because we are exposed to a
type of work we were perhaps not familiar with in the years when we
were making our first career choices. Other career changes come about
because we find that we are unhappy or dissatisfied with our current
job or career. A third reason is because we want a different lifestyle.
Maybe we want to work part-time or we need flexibility. Whatever the
reason, a career in network marketing might be a career option.

A successful career in networking marketing involves several
factors. In this series, we will look at some of the factors that can
make or break a career in network marketing. While many people have
success in network marketing, making network marketing your primary
career can be a life-altering decision. Looking at your strengths and
your weaknesses is an important part of the process. My asking yourself
several questions, looking at where you are and where you want to be,
your tolerance for change and risk, and other indicators can help you
decide if networking marketing is a career option for you.

Whether you do it part-time or full-time, a career in network marketing
is not the typical j-o-b. In fact, network marketing companies may tell
you that a career in network marketing is not a j-o-b at all. In some
respects, this is true. A career in network marketing requires some of
the skills that might be required in a standard nine to five job. It
is, however, w-o-r-k and anyone or any company that tells you otherwise
is not being truthful.

This series looks at several aspects of what makes a successful network
marketer. Whether you have been in networking marketing or a long time
and are thinking of doing it full time or you are new to networking
marketing and are trying to decide if it is for you, we hope this
series helps you make the right decision for you.

"Think not of yourself as the architect of your career but as the
sculptor. Expect to have to do a lot of hard hammering and chiseling
and scraping and polishing." BC

There are many reasons that people change careers.
Sometimes those career changes come about because we are exposed to a
type of work we were perhaps not familiar with in the years when we
were making our first career choices. Other career changes come about
because we find that we are unhappy or dissatisfied with our current
job or career. The best part after talking was getting permission to share this with you all.

The People's Franchise
Now is the time of best investment for greatest returns in
network marketing. It’s like having the chance to buy gold
again at $49 an ounce!
by John Milton Fogg
—————————————————————
“I would rather have one percent
of 100 people's efforts than 100
percent of my own.”
— Andrew Carnegie

I'm going to be telling you about The People’s Franchise—
How ordinary people can achieve extraordinary success.
Now, it’s probably bad form to begin with a quiz— but just for
fun, let’s do it anyway. Don’t worry. This is really easy— and it’s
multiple choice, too.

Listen to the following statement, then choose the correct
answer from the list of choices at the end:
“In most Americans’ minds it’s a ‘scam’ and a
‘scheme’ – questionable or unethical at best,
immoral and illegal at worst.
“Many own-your-own entrepreneurial
hopefuls have been hyped into turning over
their life savings, only to see the company go
out of business, taking their dreams down
with them.

“Politicians, regulators and the media
(especially the media) cry ‘foul’ whenever its
The Greatest Networker's Library Page 2
name comes up. Newspapers, magazines and
television news and talk shows regularly
expose it for the ‘flim-flam rip-off it really is.’
Major corporations who get involved go out of
their way to avoid any appearance of doing
so. There is even a move in Congress to
outlaw it altogether!”

Now, guess: which one is the right answer?
a) TV ministry scams
b) Off-shore Investment schemes
c) Multi-Level/Network Marketing
d) None of the above

Did you pick a), b) or c)? Well, there’s probably some truth to
all those choices— but none of them is the right answer.
The truth is, it’s a trick question. The right answer, “d) None of
the above,” WAS correct— more than 40 years ago! Back then,
that’s exactly what people were thinking and saying about a
radical, revolutionary new business concept called Franchising.

In the 1960s— before Ray Kroc and McDonalds, before Dunkin'
Doughnuts, Midas Mufflers, Molly Maid, Pizza Hut... and all the
other successful franchise companies established franchising as
a legitimate industry— all of those negative things were being
said and done about franchising. And yes, there was even a
move in Congress to outlaw franchising.

And today…?

Today, experts say the franchising industry is responsible for
more 40 percent of all retail goods and services we buy and sell
in the United States alone— over One Trillion Dollars!

For the rest of the story listen to the podcast attached.

You may have seen something on
the news about Spokane, Washington where there is now a ban on
dishwasher detergent make with phosphates. While this may seem to be an
isolated case, there are actually several states (including the rest of
the state of Washington) that will make dishwashing soap made with
phosphates above a very small level illegal in 2010.

What is phosphate anyway and why is it used in dishwashing soap?
Phosphate is an inorganic chemical that is a combination of salt and
phosphoric acid. Because it can clean things like hard water stains,
and grease, phosphates are used in all kinds of things including
dishwashing soap.

Why all the fuss? Phosphate is a problem when it
finds its way to freshwater rivers and lakes. The phosphate encouraged
the growth of algae which depletes the oxygen in these rivers and
lakes, killing off fish and other wildlife.

While there are green alternatives out there,
deleting the phosphates from the dishwashing soap can leave one
unsatisfied with the resulting product—and a lot of dirty dishes. Plus
some of these green alternatives are pricier than their cheaper
phosphorous counterparts. This has caused people to travel outside
their state to obtain contraband detergent from other states—which, of
course, defeats the purpose of the bank in the first place.

What should you look for in a green dishwashing
soap? Are there green products that work as well? While there is no
direct substitute for phosphorous, but there are other substances that
can be used. How well they will work depends on a number of factors,
perhaps the most important being the hardness of the water used for
cleaning.

One ingredient that be used is a surfactants.
Surfactants are usually biodegradable and are used to provide cleaning
power and increase the ability of the water to separate the soil from
the dish. Anionic surfactants work well as detergents, but can be less
than effective in hard water. Amphoteric surfactants are used for
their foaming power and can often be found with anionic surfactants.
There are other substitutes for phosphates, but these can be even more
dangerous than the phosphates. They include nitrilotriacatic acid
(NTA) and caustic alkaline chemicals (which are particularly dangerous
when ingested—as sometimes happens with children).

It may take some trial and error to come up with
the phosphate substitute that works best in your water. It is unlikely
that the ban on phosphates is going away, so it is better to start
exploring the options now. In the meantime, the soap manufacturers
continue work on the perfect phosphate substitute, but there are some
excellent alternatives out there.

We all know that going green is
the socially acceptable thing to do in today’s environment. By
definition something that is labeled as “green” means that it helps the
environment or that the objective is to help the environment. One area
that gong green has been a concern is with chemicals. The chemicals we
use everyday to clean our homes, our offices, and ourselves.

There is another green that is of great concern in today’s economy.
The green of money. We are all working hard to make ends meet.
Satisfying the routine the day-to-day needs may become more of a
priority than worrying about whether products are green or not. Plus
sometimes green products are more expensive than the “standard”
products.

What if there was a way to help the environment
and put more green in your pocket at the same time? What if all you
had to do was buy products that you have to buy anyway—laundry soap,
fabric softener, liquid hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, dish
soap, and even on luxury, hand milled soap. What if these products
were all green? What if they weren’t any more expensive than similar
products (and, in fact, might even be less expensive in some cases)?
What if you could make money simply by buying these products on a
monthly basis?

tell you friends, you can make even more, but even if all you do is buy
the products, you are eligible to earn money.
